CCC (China Compulsory Certification)

The CCC (China Compulsory Certification) is required for market access in China for many listed products. It was implemented on May 1, 2002, and replaces the earlier mandatory CCEE and CCIB certification.

Other facts about the CCC Certification:

  • The CCC certification scheme is managed by CNCA (The Certification and Accreditation Administration of the People’s Republic of China).
  • CNCA designates certification bodies for different products and also recognizes the testing laboratories than can be used.
  • EMC testing at a designated lab in China is required to obtain CCC Certification.
  • CB certificates and reports can be accepted for the electrical safety part, but a sample is still needed.
  • Factory inspection is required for CCC.  The initial inspection must be done by CQC, but the annual follow up inspection can be subcontracted to Nemko.
  • Each CCC certificate is valid for a maximum of 5 years and is subjected to an annual license fee.
