Nemko can test a wide range of marine equipment according to the following:

  • Marine Equipment Directive – Type approval and Wheel Mark
  • Class Societies requirements – EN/IEC 60945, IACS E10
  • FCC and USCG parts
  • EX-equipment
  • CE-mark

New test facilities and increased capacity

A new Environmental test lab and 3-meter EMC test chamber (in addition to our 10-meter EMC test chamber) was opened and accredited in 2009. This means an increased capacity for our customer’s demands.

Accreditations

Nemko was officially appointed as a Notified Body under the terms of the Marine Equipment Directive, 96/98/EC, as of July 2007. The appointment covers both Navigation and Radio communication equipment (Annexes A.1/4x and A1.5x of the Directive). This appointment came in addition to our earlier appointment as Notified Body for A.1/3x - Fire protection.

Nemko is also appointed as a Notified Body under the terms of R&TTE, EMC and LVD Directives. These may be mandatory for marine electronics not listed in the Marine Equipment Directive.
