Circle PSE Mark

The Circle PSE (Product Safety Electric Appliance and Materials) Mark is mandatory in Japan for all electrical appliances (other than the specified electrical appliances) to show that the product complies with the Japanese technical standards for electrical devices.

Products defined as electrical appliances (other than the specified electrical appliances) include:

  • Wires, Cables and Heating Cables
  • Conduits, Conduit Fittings and Switch Boxes for Cable Wiring
  • Fuses
  • Wiring Devices
  • Transformers and Ballasts
  • Small A.C. Motors
  • Electric Heating Appliances
  • Electric Motor-Operated Appliances
  • Luminaries and Optical Appliances
  • Electronic Appliances
  • Other AC Electric Appliances

The Circle PSE mark falls under the Electrical Appliance and Material Safety Law (DENAN) and is applied to 339 items of electrical products that are intended for use in Japan.
