News about the MTCTE scheme

The Indian telecom authority TEC has by a recent Amendment Notification announced extension of Phase III & IV of the mandatory testing & certification scheme for telecom equipment (MTCTE) as follows:

 

  1. 32 products are extended from 1 July 2023 to 1 October 2023, (ref. Annexure-I*)
  2. 12 products are extended from 1 July 2023 to 1 January 2024, (ref. Annexure-II*)
  3. ILAC test reports are accepted by TEC for technical parameters from 30 June to 31 December this year*) More information is available at this site.

Also, TEC has by another recent Notification announced implementation of the MTCTE Phase V, covering the following types of products: -Base Station for Cellular Network, -5G Core, -Hypervisor, -E-band Fixed Radio Relay System, -Converged Multi-Service Application Access Equipment (C-MSAAE), -IP Terminal, -Hybrid Set Top Box.

For these products, the MTCTE portal is now from 1 July open for applications.
Test reports issued from non-border sharing countries' labs accredited by ILAC signatories can be accepted till 30 June 2024, provided is less than 2 years old.

News about Nemko India
Nemko India’s scope as a TEC designated Conformity Assessment Body (CAB) has been expanded to include interface and functional testing. Thereby, it is the first CAB to cover the full scope of MTCTE required testing (i.e. safety, EMC, Wireless and technical requirement parameters) for 98% of the notified products under the scheme. The certificate of designation may be seen here.

Also, Nemko India is now accredited by A2LA for testing of EMC as basis for Canadian ISED Certification/ Declaration of Conformity (DoC) and for certification by US FCC, respectively. The scope includes both emission- and immunity testing according to American and international standards.
