Saudi Arabia introducing Off/Stand-by energy requirements

The Saudi Arabian authority SASO has published a new regulation with Off/Standby requirements for electrical and electronic products.
For the following types of products, the requirements will apply from 1 July 2024:

 -Televisions & electronic screens, -Cloth dryers, -Dishwashers, -Washing
machines; -Microwave ovens, -Electric ovens

The products need to have management of Standby, Off, Network Standby, Power equivalent with reference to the European ErP regulations (EC) No 1275/2008 and (EU) No 801/2013.

However, there are several additional specific product requirements for TVs and electronic screens, washing machines and dishwashers.

There is no certification process for this regulation, but to fulfill the requirements, manufacturers must provide a Declaration of Conformity (DoC) with the regulation, and an associated technical documentation file, including a test report based on these European standards:

   - EN 50564 (Electrical and electronic household and office equipment - Measurement of low power consumption

   - EN 50643 (Electrical and electronic household and office equipment - Measurement of networked standby power
 consumption of edge equipment
)
