One year postponement for MTCTE of some products

The Indian Telecommunication Engineering Centre (TEC) has announced one year extension of the date for the mandatory certification of product types included in the Phases III and IV of MTCTE (Mandatory Testing and Certification of Telecom Equipment), i.e., from 1 July this year to 1 July next year.

 

Examples of the product types concerned are:

In Phase III:
  • Base stations and repeaters for cellular networks,
  • Smart cameras and watches,
  • IoT gateways,
  • Equipment operating in the 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz bands.

In Phase IV:

  • Transmission terminal equipment,
  • Satellite communication equipment,
  • Radio broadcast receivers,
  • VHF/UHF radio system equipment
  • Routers.
