The Republic of Indonesia is comprising over 17000 islands located in Southeast Asia and Oceania. With over 280 mill people, it is the world’s fourth most populus country.
The Indonesian National Standards Agency BSN has recently released an updated list of mandatory SNI standards for Audio/Video products and Primary Batteries, which may be seen here (in Indonesian).
Some of the key updates are:
For Audio/Video products, (per the Minister of Industry Regulation No. 75 of 2024), the technical standard SNI 04-6253-2003 (based on IEC 60065) is replaced by SNI IEC 62368-1:2014 + COR1:2015, IDT (based on IEC 6268-1), which covers the following products:
• Television Sets (LCD and CRT monitors with max screen size 55 inches)
• Stand-alone DVD players and Blu-Ray players as well as their combinations
• Set Top Boxes for Televisions
For Primary Batteries, (per Ministry of Industry Regulation No. 69 of 2024), the technical standards SNI 04-2051.1-2004 and SNI 04-2051.2-2004 are replaced by:
- SNI IEC 60086-1:2015, PRIMARY BATTERIES - PART 1: GENERAL
(based on IEC 60086-1:2011, IDT), and
- SNI IEC 60086-2:2015, PRIMARY BATTERIES - PART 2: Physical and electrical specifications
(based on IEC 60086-2:2011, IDT)
(The two old standards SNI 2051 will still be valid until further notice).
• The HS code list for primary batteries has been modified.
• When primary batteries are packed together with other products, and/or becoming part of other
products than primary batteries, the mandatory SNI provisions for Primary Batteries apply.
