The China Compulsory Certification mark, CCC, is a compulsory safety mark for many types of products marketed in China, including IT-, Audio/Video- and Communication equipment.During the past 10 years, the two Chinese national (‘Guo Biao’) standards GB4943.1-2011 and GB8898-2011 have been defining technical safety requirements for such products. However, most of these products now fall under the new standard
GB4943.1-2022, which is equivalent to the international standard IEC 62368-1:2018 ‘Audio/ video, information and communication technology equipment-Part 1: Safety requirements’.
This standard entails classification and assessment of various hazard sources, with associated appropriate precautions depending on the hazard source.
GB4943.1-2022 was issued on 19 July this year, and on 2 August, the Chinese authority CNCA released an announcement (No. 11 of 2022) which made it effective retroactively from Aug. 1, 2022, while granting a transition period of two years until 31 July 2024 to renew existing certifications to the new standard.
Also, the latter applies to the new EMC standard GB/T 9254.1-2021, which is equivalent to the international standard CISPR 32:2015 ‘Information technology equipment, multimedia equipment and receivers - Electromagnetic compatibility - Part 1: Emission requirements’.
The GB/T 9254.1-2021 was issued on 31 December last year and made effective from 1 July this year.
The official announcement in Chinese is available here.
