    Partnering for cyber security

The Taiwan-headquartered D-Link Corporation is a prominent international provider of networking equipment and systems, currently operating at 120 locations in 57 countries worldwide, and having attained many awards for their innovations.

When needed to take measures for complying with the European cyber security requirements, they found that Nemko certification of IoT consumer products based on the international standard ETSI EN 303 645 was the optimal solution. Their primary product group includes Wireless Access Point/Router, Mobile Router, ADSL Modem Wireless, and IP Cam.
D-Link is presently working with Nemko on a number of cyber projects and will acquire valuable experience during the evaluation processes.
On 8 June they announced that their AQUILA PRO AI M30 Wi-Fi 6 Mesh Router had obtained Nemko cybersecurity certification according to ETSI EN 303 645, thereby being the first company in Taiwan to receive this certificate.
"We are thrilled about this achievement", said D-Link’s chairman Mr. Victor Kuo, "It demonstrates our ongoing commitment to provide secure and reliable networking solutions. We believe that cybersecurity is paramount in today's interconnected world, and this certification validates our efforts in ensuring the highest level of protection for our customers' IoT devices."

Certification of IoT consumer products based on the international standard ETSI EN 303 645 provides proof of
compliance with relevant cyber security requirements, such as expected additions to the European Radio Equipment Directive (RED) and relevant parts of the European General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
The standard is also being adopted as basis for cyber security in several countries outside Europe, and has been adopted for international certification in the IECEE/CB scheme to facilitate global market access.

ETSI EN 303 645 is free and publicly available to use for IoT products as a baseline provision for manufacturers to develop more cyber secure products. The scope includes Wearable Health Trackers, Smart Cameras, TV and Speakers, IoT Gateways, Base Stations and Hubs, Home Automation and Alarm Systems, Smoke Detectors, Windows sensors, Children’s Toys, Baby Monitors, Smart Home Assistants, Connected Appliances as well as Washing Machines connected to public networking.

Other than certification, Nemko offers guidance and workshops on cyber standards for IoT products, gap analysis, product evaluations, vulnerability checks, pen-testing and attestation.
