I am a Staff Accountant for Nemko Canada.
How did you choose this career path?
I like accounting and financial analysis with passion, and I have been working and studying in the accounting area for almost ten years. Since working at Nemko, I have grown so much professionally and personally by learning and engaging with the worldwide Nemko community and customers.
What do you enjoy most about your job at Nemko?
I enjoy working with vibrant, worldwide, diverse communities and customers. In addition, I am enjoying adding value to Nemko’s growth, building strong customer relationships, and working with the integrated and modernized operating system.
Are there any challenges that you’ve faced during your career that have taught you important lessons?
Some of the challenges that I faced at Nemko are learning about the services, the types of certifications Nemko provides, getting to know the worldwide customers, and accommodating their needs which I am learning so much progressively.
What do you think the industry will look like in 20 years?
With the rapid growth of technology and emerging artificial intelligence (AI), I think Nemko will obtain a higher market share globally and be the top product certification provider.
What are some market trends you’re keeping an eye on?
As a finance staff, I always like to keep my eye on the interest rate, inflation, and recession, which could impact Nemko’s finance.
When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
When not working, I enjoy cooking, exercising, watching movies, playing games with my kids, listening to music, and going on a road trip.
What does the average day in the life look like for you?
The average day in the life of an accountant is busy but quick and fun. The highly active finance work keeps my day very active and engaging.
What is your favorite song, show, or book at the moment?
My favorite song of all time is “You needed me” by Anne Murray. It always helps me stay positive, strong, and grateful for all the support, love, and care I am getting.
