Ukraine announces draft of the technical regulation on new Ecodesign requirements

The State Agency for Energy Efficiency and Energy Savings of Ukraine recently Drafted the Technical Regulation that establishes new requirements for energy labelling and additional information on various products.

These energy labelling requirements will help to regulate these products in Ukraine in accordance with the updated EU ecodesign legislation and inform consumers of the energy efficiency of certain products for total transparency. 

Products affected by this draft include:

• Light sources with or without integrated control gear
• Household refrigerating appliances
• Household dishwashers
• Electrical mains-operating welding equipment
• Electric motors and variable-speed drives
• Electronic displays including televisions, monitors, and digital signage displays

Importers and manufacturers of these products must comply with this new legislation going forward; however, existing products on the market are not affected by this change.
