Technical Support to Sales
Define your role within Nemko.
I currently have a few different positions, but my main role is Technical Support to sales. My second Role is to contribute to sales and to contribute to technical testing whenever required. My last Role is that I am a Certified NRTL auditor for US and Canada certifications. Previously I was handling the Technical Manager-Safety Testing Position.
How did you choose this career path?
I started my career as a maintenance engineer in a tool company, but I was not satisfied with the job because I always wanted to work in core electronics. After a few months I left that company and started searching for a new opportunity. After a few days, I got the offer of testing engineer and accepted the offer. After getting 3 years of experience, I got the chance to join my dream company Nemko.
What do you enjoy most about your job at Nemko?
Every day there is a new challenge in my work. New standards, new products, new customer requirements. Technical competency is improving daily, and I enjoy every challenge, it’s a great experience.
Are there any challenges that you’ve faced during your career that have taught you important lessons?
When I entered my sales position, it was very challenging for me; of course, a technical person who has no knowledge of sales is a very big task for him to perform, so balancing time and managing technical work and sales tasks were challenging for me.
What do you think the industry will look like in 20 years?
Technology is growing rapidly; we get to experience IoT-based smart things in the future where the Safety, EMC, RF, and Cybersecurity testing requirements will be huge.
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
Engaging in day-to-day work always gets a chance to interact with technical engineers, challenging tasks where we learn new things and technologies is a very satisfying to experience.
What are some market trends you’re keeping an eye on?
Mandatory testing and certification scheme for telecom products for the Indian market will be Completely mandatory (With all phases) up to 2023-2024, and Cybersecurity laws are coming into place now, and there is a mandatory regulation coming into Europe in 2024 and a voluntary one for the US in 2025. So, this is the big push everybody has going on right now.
When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
From my childhood, my favorite sport has been Cricket. I always used to watch cricket matches, playing cricket whenever I get time. Nowadays, to improve my English, I used to watch English Series to learn.
