Associate Manager for the International Market Access Program

Define your role within Nemko.
I am the Associate Manager for the International Market Access Program in the San Diego office. My role is to oversee projects from start to finish. Gather documents, prepare and submit documents to various certification bodies and other Nemko offices for certification and follow-up on pending items as necessary. I also keep in close contact with my team to ensure projects are running smoothly and are being completed in a timely manner for budgeting purposes.

How did you choose this career path?
I didn’t choose this career path I was approached by Nancy about the job when a position opened up in 2014 and I’ve been here ever since and I love it.

What do you enjoy most about your job at Nemko?
I enjoy the people I work with, the flexibility it offers and the opportunity to build rapport with clients.

Are there any challenges that you’ve faced during your career that have taught you important lessons?
I would say one of the biggest challenges is that nothing remains the same, changes happens all of the time so you just have to learn to adjust accordingly.

What do you think the industry will look like in 20 years?
I hope that this industry continues to offer services that are in demand so that it can continue to grow.

What do you find most rewarding about your role?
The most rewarding part of being an Associate Manger is seeing the progress that my team makes as changes occur and being able to relay the information to the clients so that we continue to meet our goal/budget every month.

What are some market trends you’re keeping an eye on?
Right now, we are trying to educate ourselves more on TEC requirements since we have clients that have products that require this type of approval. If we can familiarize ourselves with the requirements, there is a lot of opportunity to sell this service.

When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
When I’m not working, I spend time with my family and hang out with friends.
