Define your role within Nemko.
I am working as a Quality Manager of Nemko India. I am responsible for both lab and PTP activities. Sometimes I get a few more responsibilities but they are not permanent.
How did you choose this career path?
Frankly speaking, I never decided to choose this career path but now I found my job interesting. After completing my engineering with honors, I started my first job in November 2011 as a calibration engineer. Thereafter along with technical, I was moved to the quality department as well. Since 2017, I am working as Quality Manager.
What do you enjoy most about your job at Nemko?
I enjoy the freedom to make appropriate decisions as and when required for the betterment of our Quality Management System.
Are there any challenges that you’ve faced during your career that have taught you important lessons?
Yes, of course, I have a total of ten years’ experience in the field, and I have faced many challenges during my career. The good thing is that at the end of the day I have overcome and managed almost all of them. The lesson I learned is that you always must be sure and correct about your decisions to overcome all the challenges.
What do you think the industry will look like in 20 years?
I think, it’s unpredictable and that can be surely said after this COVID-19 pandemic. TIC industry size exceeds USD 200 billion in 2021 and is anticipated to expand at 6% CAGR through 2030. Government authorities are increasing their efforts to implement strict testing, inspection and certification regulations on account of growing incidents on non-compliance from major entities. The TIC industry will be going to be expand over the years based on the rising quality expectations and demand for compliance with varying regulatory mandates.
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
The trust which you are conveying through your actions to the regulatory or accreditation bodies being a management system representative and the front face of the organization.
What are some market trends you’re keeping an eye on?
Changes in international approvals, Cyber security, and growth in the telecom industry.
When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
I am having a 2-year-old little, tiny bundle of joy (my son) at home. I used to spend all my spare time with him only. He is such a stress buster to me.
