    Meet Yasaman Vadoudi

    Yasaman Vadoudi

Product Certification Handler for Nemko in Norway/executive specialist for the Gulf Conformity Mark scheme.

    Define your role within Nemko.
I work as a Certification Project Handler for Nemko in Norway. I carry out all certification and handling of projects according to valid standards, regulations, certification schemes and procedures. As part of my role, I am also an executive specialist for the Gulf Conformity Mark (G-Mark) scheme, and I have an active role in contributing to the scheme through my membership in the working group for the GCC Standardization.

How did you choose this career path?
After I completed my master’s degree in Economic and Business Administration, I was actively looking for an opportunity to expand my knowledge and gain some professional experience in an industry-leading and well-established company. Previously I was working in the training department of TÜV Intercert in Iran, so when I found the position with Nemko, I felt it held interesting challenges and opportunities, as it shared some similarities to that previous role that I had with TÜV Intercert. I considered it a tremendous opportunity.

What do you enjoy most about your job at Nemko?
My favorite part of my job is that I get to work with such a diverse and multicultural and international team, where everyone shares a common vision and mission. This creates a great working environment and team culture, where everybody is there for each other and is focused on supporting the customer in the best possible way. In addition, Nemko is a knowledge sharing company that offers learning opportunities and care about helping employees develop and grow professionally.

Are there any challenges that you’ve faced during your career that have taught you important lessons?
Working is never free from challenges and sometimes they can seem large and overwhelming. The key lesson that I have learnt is to break larger problems into smaller increments with clearer goals. This allows you to reduce and manage the risk more efficiently, as well as get customer feedback quicker which is always beneficial.

What do you think the industry will look like in 20 years?
Advances in automation (machine learning and AI) will have a big impact on TIC. Over the next 20 years, I foresee major technological advances will revolutionize the industry and potentially even create new core domains to explore.

What do you find most rewarding about your role?
The positive feedback I get from customers is my best reward. My position is like being a guide to customers that want their products certified in a timely manner, so they can bring safe products to the market. I walk them through the process and the required documentation, and I follow up until they get their certification.

What are some market trends you’re keeping an eye on?
The emergence of new technologies, sustainability of new products, and greener TIC in general are considerable trends that every one of us should stay updated on.

When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
I enjoy spending time with my family, socializing with friends, going for walks, reading books, learning new things, keeping active and staying healthy.
