Define your role within Nemko.
I am the Quality Manager of Nemko Korea and Factory Inspector of CIG, NRTL. A quality manager is responsible for implementing the quality management system and managing and maintaining records. At the same time, a factory inspector conducts the factory inspection according to the specified criteria and issues a factory inspection report.
How did you choose this career path?
Originally, I was a test engineer of TCO. One day, Nemko Korea’s general manager suggested quality management work, and I accepted it because I was interested in quality and factory inspection work.
What do you enjoy most about your job at Nemko?
I feel lucky to be able to learn many things while working at Nemko. Such as communication with people globally and efficient work skills.
Are there any challenges that you’ve faced during your career that have taught you important lessons?
External assessments (e.g. CBTL, KOLAS, RRA, etc.) have taught me many lessons. Through external assessments, an objective evaluation of the current work is carried out, and many deficiencies can be found.
What do you think the industry will look like in 20 years?
I think that the size of the testing and certification market will gradually expand, and its importance will increase.
What do you find most rewarding about your role?
I feel rewarded to maintain proper accreditation due to QA work activities.
What are some market trends you’re keeping an eye on?
I have been watching the expansion of the Mutual Recognition Agreement (MRA), which will increase trade volume between countries.
When not working, how do you spend your spare time?
I rest at home or go on a trip. I usually listen to music or watch YouTube videos at home. When traveling, it makes me feel refreshed and relaxed.
